Free children’s dental under Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS)

What is the CDBS?

The CDBS is a program for eligible children that provides up to $1,132 of basic dental benefit over a relevant two calendar year period for children aged 0-17 years.

You don’t need to register for the CDBS, and will usually be notified by Services Australia if you are eligible. Our staff member will also be able to check for you whether your child is eligible if you provide us with their Medicare number.

Which children are eligible for dental services?

A child is eligible if they are:

  • eligible for Medicare, and
  • aged 0-17 years at any point in the calendar year, and
  • receive a relevant Australian government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, at any point in the calendar year.

What services are covered?

  • Check up (examinations)
  • X-rays,
  • Scale and cleaning
  • Fissure sealing (preventative)
  • Fillings
  • Root canals
  • Extractions

Give us a call today to see if your child is eligible on 02 4396 5777.
